For those who are interested...

Check out Steph's entry about our trip to the Minnesota State Fair. I only have one thing to add...make sure you check out the picture of me with the cookies, and see Jack's hungry hand descending upon the cookie cone.

Wes and "Where the Wild Things Are"

Today, Wesley Tov is 2 years old. Last weekend, Steph and I spent two wonderful days in Chicago. While there, we saw the latest Harry Potter movie. Before the movie, we saw a trailer for the film version of this classic children's book.

It got me to thinking...have I ever read that book? It's funny...there is something for everyone that everyone else has seen or heard, while one hasn't seen or heard it. Anyhow, the trailer looked great, and Stephanie and I decided we would buy Wesley this book for his 2nd birthday. Today, I have read it to him twice, and I love the wonder of the book. I also love that the outfit of Max in the book reminds me of of the sleepers that little Wes still wears. Wes got some moose sleepers for his birthday, and the sight of him in those sleepers coupled with reading him that book could not be more adorable.

The book sees the wonder of imagination right next to the simple yearning for parental love. What better idea to sum up this little man who has a wild streak but loves his family so much. We cannot imagine our little family without him. As I saw his brother and sister cheering on the proceedings this morning as he blew out the candle on his birthday breakfast muffin, I saw part of the wonder of having 3 kids. The older two were as excited as him, and were pulling him along for the ride. He had a ball, the wild rumpus began, and he was the king of the wild things.

Happy birthday Wessie.

The Sound of Thunder Music

So last night, we had a visit from our old friend, thunder. Corrie still gets skittish with the noise, so she came up to our room after an unusually loud clap of thunder, and we proceeded to watch the Sound of Music past 1AM. It made for an early rise this morning (especially for Steph, bless her), but it was sweet to have Corrie in our bed snuggling up. By the way, we heard nothing from the boys.

Here are a few recent pics:
