May is gone!

The fact that I am writing about May being gone on June 6 says something. May was a great month and a busy one. We had two visits (my parents and our friends Eric, Josie and Dietrich), I had a lot going on at work, and we had to take care of a few things at the house.

The visit with my folks was great. We had a wonderful visit up to Duluth, and were able to see some wonderful scenery. We also stayed at a great lodge up there. We ate at some great restaurants, I saw Star Trek twice, and Steph and I were able to get out on a date (on which we saw Star Trek).

Our visit with Eric, Josie and Dietrich was great. Thy live in Ukraine, and they blessed us with a visit here last week. Many great Minnesota things were involved: a playground by the lake, a Twins game, the Mall of America, the Como Park Zoo, and stunning mid 70's days throughout their visit.

May brought some things back home to me. It is good to have your life's pace altered at times, because it can bring you back to what is important. I love my job and my everyday life, but being able to focus on the people that are important to you is a great change of pace. We have had some stress with stuff to do around the house (and since I don't like house stuff, I allow it to grate on me more than I should), and it was great to be able to change our perspective. With more visits in June, that should be able to continue-Steph's parents are here right now, and my cousin and his family will visit in a week.

Here are the kiddos with their friend Dietrich (Wes is enormous)

Josie was great about reading to the kiddos:

And when it is just the five of us, Steph and I are constantly amazed by the natural beauty in our neighborhood. Here are Jack and Corrie, our nature explorers.

Comments:
Pictures are great! Wesley does look like a little giant next to Dietrich. Isn't Dietrich older? By the way, how is the rose bush coming on? I also want to hear about your new fence, and want to see a picture soon!
